Police say in early 2008 someone stole 150 stainless steel toilets from the Salvage Nation in Lexington, totaling $120,000. Now Crime Stoppers is hoping someone knows where they may be.
Lexington police are looking for the person or persons responsible for stealing 150 stainless steel toilets from the Salvage Nation on Newtown Pike in Lexington. The toilets are around three feet tall, weigh eighty pound, and mount to the wall.
"Stainless steel toilets from the old jail downtown and when they removed these toilets they brought them here to clean them off and resale them", says Detective Eric McCrickard with the Lexington Police Department.
Police say although they believe the toilets were taken in February of 2008, employees didn't notice they were missing until the early summer of that year.
"When they went to gather the items up for sale, that's when they determined they were missing", says Detective McCrickard.
The 150 toilets were valued at $800 apiece, totaling $120,000 taken from the Salvage Nation.
"That's a pretty good hit for the owner and business", says Detective McCrickard.
Now they're hoping someone knows where they may be.
