It happened in broad daylight. Someone broke into a car in a parking garage in Lexington stealing a backpack with valuables inside. Now Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

On March 25th, around 9:00 in the morning, a car was broken into in a garage at 300 West Vine Street.

"A backpack that he had laying in the vehicle was stolen," says Detective Rob Sarrantonio with Lexington Police.

Police say inside the backpack was thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment.

"There was over $17,000 dollars of camera equipment and the most expensive parts of the camera equipment is the lenses so he had several different lenses in the backpack," says Det. Rob Sarrantonio.

Now police are hoping you know whose responsible for this theft.

"We're just hoping that, since this equipment is so rare, that we're hoping someone was able to see someone trying to sell some of this camera equipment or seen someone carrying it around," says Det. Sarrantonio.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Call Crime Stoppers today at 859-253-2020. It's a free call and they don't want your name, just your information.
