Off duty officer cut on face while trying to break up a fight

An off duty officer was cut on the face with a knife while trying to break up a fight in a Waffle House parking lot. Crimestoppers is asking for help to find the woman they say is responsible.

Around 3:30 on Sunday Morning police were called to the Waffle House on South Broadway in Lexington for a fight.

When the arrived they found an off duty officer with a large gash on his chin. He was taken to UK Hospital treated and released.

The woman police say cut the officer had already left the scene. Minutes later police received a call of woman at the Shell Gas Station on Versailles who was covered in blood and saying she had just stabbed someone.

By the time police arrived, the woman was again gone. Police say she got away in a Gray Dodge Charger.
