PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Pulaski County man is still in the hospital after intruders entered his home, assaulting him and his brother.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office tells us they are investigating a reported home invasion in Burnside. They say it happened early Monday morning at the home of Jimmy Rowland, 48 and Timothy Wells, 51, who are brothers.

Sheriff's deputies tell us the two victims were asleep in their home when the suspects entered the home through an unlocked door. The intruders then began assaulting the two men with a blunt object. We are told after the assault, the suspects fled on foot. Rowland and Wells were then able to call 911 for help.

The brothers were treated on scene and later transferred to UK Hospital. Wells was treated for head injuries and released on Tuesday. Rowland is still at UK Hospital, being treated for more severe head injuries and two broken arms.

Officials tell us the motive for the home invasion and assault is believed to be robbery, and the victims are missing a small amount of cash.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about this assault to contact their office at (606) 678-5145.
