Crime Stoppers: Authorities investigating arson in parking structure

Lexington Fire investigators continue to search for the person responsible for setting a vehicle on fire in a parking structure on September 23rd. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward in the case.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 23rd, an officer noticed something unusual at a parking structure.

"A patrol officer noticed smoke coming from the parking garage at 100 East Vine Street. When he went over to investigate it, he noticed that there was a vehicle on fire," says Detective Rob Sarrantonio with Lexington Police.

Fire investigators say it appears to be arson. The man seen in the photo on this page was the man caught on camera in the same structure just moments before.

"There is a male, white suspect walking in the parking garage wearing a blue polo shirt with blue jeans and we're hoping someone can identify this person as a possible suspect in this arson," says Detective Rob Sarrantonio.
