On Thursday September 2nd, around 10:00 in the evening, Lexington Police were called to the Sonnet Cove Apartments on Laketower Drive in reference to a shooting.

"Upon arrival they located Francisco Sandoval in apartment 108. Mr. Sandoval had received two gunshot wounds to his lower abdomen," says Detective Rob Wilson with Lexington Police.

Family members in the apartment told police they were watching TV when they heard a knocking on the sliding glass door.

"Mr. Sandoval went to investigate. Family members heard 4-5 gunshots and when Mr. Sandoval came back in they observed he had been shot in the stomach," says Detective Wilson.

A witness who heard the gunshots and walked outside tells police two black males in their early twenties ran away from that area, jumping into two different vehicles.

"The witness observed one get into a blue or gray 4-door passenger car with partial license of 063, and the other got into a white SUV," says Detective Wilson.

They're hoping you can help them solve this crime.
