Crime Stoppers: Search for robbery suspect

The search continues for a man who walked into a gas station in the middle of the night, and demanded money from the cashier.

The man took off with the cash, but police hope some surveillance video of the suspect will help them catch him.

The robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 23 at the Speedway on Boston Road in Lexington.

"The victim says he was cleaning the grill outside the store and that's when the suspect entered and came up to the register and demanded the money and he was armed with a weapon," Det. Rob Sarrantonio of Lexington Police said.

In the surveillance video, you can see that man walk in the store with a gun and demand money at the register.

Police describe the suspect as a young white man, around 5'10."

"He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a black t-shirt," Sarrantonio said. "It was pulled up partially covering his face. He was wearing blue jeans, shorts, and black shoes."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
