Lexington Police have issued an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Troy Lee Mansfield.
Detectives say Mansfield is responsible for the May 10 robbery of the Whitaker Bank branch inside the Kroger at the Regency Center on Lowry Lane. That's when the suspect approached the bank teller with a note demanding cash.
"The nature of the note was in a threatening manner", said Detective Reid Bowles. "He did present bodily harm to the tellers if they didn't comply with his demands. In the demands he was very specific in what he wanted and what he didn't want to happen."
It's the same method police say Mansfield used at a second robbery at the Whitaker branch inside the Kroger on Romany Road on May 21.
Then Wednesday a third robbery, also at a bank branch inside a grocery store, with similar characteristics. "He came in, looked like a normal customer and displayed the note quietly. They complied quietly, and he left. "
In each case, the incident unfolded without much attention from shoppers, but investigators now say they've identified the suspect in all three robberies and expect to have him in custody soon.
