Police search for man who robbed Lexington couple at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Rain or shine, for 30 years Glayton Adams has walked the streets of his neighborhood.

"This is my home. My wife and I own a home in Green Acres subdivision and we like it here," he said.

As much as he loves the community, tucked between New Circle Road and I-64 in north Lexington, he says crime has slowly crept in over the years.

"It's scary, it's real scary," said Adams.

He tells us he's on edge right now because police say late Saturday night a man armed with a gun, pushed a man and woman out of a car in the parking lot of their Caballo Run apartment, stealing an iPhone and cash.

Investigators tell us they brought K-9s to Hollow Creek Road off of Russell Cave Road to track the man but he hasn't been found yet.

The robber was wearing glasses and jeans and is most likely in his early 20s, according to police.

"It's very, very scary because it happened to them. My wife and I could drive up to our home one evening and it could happen to us," said Adams.

He doesn't want that to happen, so as he walks, he prays.

"So it can go back to the nice clean area that it was," Adams said.

He says even though the rain has been pouring down now, he believes the community will see a brighter day.
