Man convicted in Corbin murder learns punishment

CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) - A man convicted in the death of his teenage daughter's boyfriend learned his punishment Monday.

A Whitley County judge gave Bill Cox twelve years in prison.

Earlier this year, a jury found Cox guilty of manslaughter under extreme emotional disturbance and wanton endangerment.

In 2012, Cox shot and killed 21-year-old Ryan Abner. In 911 calls made after the shooting, Cox claimed Abner abused his daughter.
