New surveillance video from Nicholasville hotel robbery

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Nicholasville Police have new surveillance video from a robbery at the Home Place Inn. The hotel was robbed the night before Thanksgiving. Thieves are shown in the new video "staking out" the hotel and leaving the scene after the theft.

"He pulled up his shirt and showed the clerk a handgun, demanded the money, she complied with his orders," explained Officer Kevin Grimes.

The hotel's security camera caught very little detail of the suspect, that's why police are thrilled to have footage from the Holiday Inn Express across the street.

The footage shows the suspects in the Holiday Inn parking lot. The two suspects are in a light colored, four door, possibly foreign car. The driver of the car is seen walking with a flashlight in his mouth. The passenger is seen running back to the car after the robbery.

This was the third robbery in four days in the town, however this suspect doesn't completely match the description from the other crimes.

"It tends to show that crime is leaking away from the bigger cities and is going to the smaller areas like Nicholsville and the places surrounding here," said Grimes.

The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash. No one from the hotel was harmed.
