Suspect arrested in Madison County trailer theft case

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Madison County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect after a trailer was stolen on Tuesday in Madison County.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Michael Workman Thursday.

Officers obtained security tapes from Battlefield Estates, where the trailer was stolen from.

The tape showed the suspect's car as a Red GMC Sonoma pickup with no bumper.

Officers believe Workman could also be connected with other trailer thefts from around the area.

Officers are asking anyone in Fayette, Madison or Scott counties that may have had a trailer stolen and not reported it to please contact them as soon as possible.

Workman has been charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking in Madison County and more charges are pending.

Additional charges have also been filed by Scott County and Lexington police.

Workman is currently lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
