LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say two men stole an ATM machine right out of this store and it was holding a large amount of money.

At 5:20 Wednesday morning, police say two men shattered the front window of the Liquor Barn at the Beaumont Centre. They went into the lobby and quickly dismantled an ATM.

Police say the pair may have used a tool, but it was suspicious how quickly they were able to snatch the machine and take off. Not only that, but police say about $6,000 in cash was inside the ATM after being filled up the day before.

“It was a couple of them that did it. It didn't take them but about five minutes. So, they got in and they either knew what they were doing or they got very lucky. You could assume that they cased it but we don’t know anything of that yet. But we are definitely looking into it and we’re going to investigate it to the fullest," says Sgt. Andrew Daugherty, Lexington Police.

Police say the store does have surveillance video of the suspect. They hope that will help them identify who's responsible.

Police say one of the suspects was a white man. He was wearing black shoes with white socks, as well as a dark colored hoodie and shorts. Police are unsure of the other man's description.
