SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Alec Baldwin has paid a visit to his mother's cancer research booth at the New York State Fair.

The Post-Standard reports that the actor spent a couple hours Tuesday at the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY Inc. booth at the suburban Syracuse fairgrounds.

The former "30 Rock" star signed autographs and posted for pictures with his mother, who lives in Camillus, outside Syracuse. Carol Baldwin's organization has had a booth at the fair for 13 years. Alec Baldwin is a board member of the research fund.

Baldwin is on a break from filming "Mission: Impossible 5" with Tom Cruise in Morocco. On Monday, he attended the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York City.
