LOS ANGELES (AP) - Like Robin Williams often did, the tribute to the late comedian left us laughing. The tribute was delivered by Billy Crystal, a colleague and dear friend of Williams. As he spoke before a hushed audience at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Crystal was able to get the audience to focus on Williams' power to make people laugh, rather than emphasize how he took his own life earlier this month. After noting that Williams "made us laugh. Hard. Every time you saw him," Crystal let Williams' own work speak for itself, showing a series of clips of his comedy work before the sequence faded to a still image of Williams, and the screen went to black.
