LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Canadian man facing federal charges of stalking the brother of actress Jennifer Lawrence in Kentucky has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Dave Whalin on Friday ordered 23-year-old Zhao Han Cong of Vancouver, British Columbia, held pending a written report from a federal medical facility about his competency to face criminal charges.
FBI agents in Louisville charged Cong on Monday with interstate stalking and repeated harassing phone communications.
Agent Richard Boswell III wrote in an affidavit that Cong repeatedly contacted Blaine Lawrence of Louisville through email and voice mail messages. Boswell wrote that Cong flew from southwestern Canada to Louisville in April and kept up the threats.
Local police arrested Cong in April and turned him over to federal authorities on May 7.
