Family Found Living In Filth

A grand jury has indicted a couple and their son for criminal abuse in Frankfort.

Investigators say they found a 99-year-old man locked in a bedroom in the couple's home.

They say he was covered in feces and filth. They also say they found two children, ages 10 and 12, living in horrible conditions with garbage and roaches all over the house.

The 99-year old is now in an assisted living home.

Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the 99 year old man, Cantrill Quire, is the father of Jean Flood.

This is shameful, to think of what people gets by with. I also knew of a little family that went through the same thing and they were given back and just returned to the same old way of living. It is a shame that the parents are so lazy and dope headed that they couldn't care less about the kids and older person. I think the goverment needs to step in and lock these people up and guard them 24/7 and see to it that every need that the kids need is given. You know people can be reported and guess what they call them and tell them that they are coming out to investigate. I believe in not letting the parents know they are coming , just show up.

Hey Sherry - I guess I'll find out how stupid a person can be when I finally get to meet you. You guys just don't get it. You read too much into the comments than actually taking what is posted. I never said it ONLY happens in those counties, but the stories lately involve those counties/towns. Get a grip you oversensitive do-gooders.

I am saddened to hear this. It breaks my heart to know the elderly gentleman was left that way. I am happy they have put him in a better place away from the scum he was living with. How the heck did they get the children back KNOWING what hell it has been. I know kids removed from their homes for a lot less then that. They were not only abusinve to the gentleman but neglectful and abusive to the children. I would like to know how they got then kids back.

Almost 11yrs ago, My husband was trying to have his son removed from a filthy/abusive living situation and A Social Worker in Casey County let my husband and myself know there was absolutely NO CRIME in being nasty! That was the very words from her mouth so, naturally, the children will be returned to this environment. I couldn't help but thinking at that time, do they not realize the Health Risk involved but, needless to say, WE were considered the troublemakers!

Stupidity, nastiness, laziness......the list goes on forever, but it is NOT restricted to a certain county in KY, nor to the state of KY. Look outside of KY, what happens there? Might be of a different nature SOMETIMES but not always, but is usually of the same nature, just a different name. What makes that different?? Nothing! If you think any of this is only happens in KY, your own intelligence is not what you think.

I feel sorry for the children and the old man. That this had to happened to. There is no call for someone being so lazy that they can't get off their lazy tales to take care of their children. I have two kids and if it takes every breath I have I make sure that my house is clean for my kids. What always happens to people like this is they always get their kids back. These children need to be able to go to sleep at night and sleep in a clean home and a clean bed. God Bless these children and the old man. I feel sorry for them not the parents.

PERSONALLY, I THINK THE STATE SHOULD FIND THESE KIDS A CLEAN, LOVING INVIRONMENT TO LIVE IN, THE PARENTS SHOULD BE LOCKED UP SOMEWHERE AND LIVE IN A WORSE CONDITION THAN THESE KIDS AND ELDERLY MAN HAD TO LIVE IN.. ACTUALLY THEY NEED HUNG, THIS IS SICK

as a nurse I see it every day, kids are taken away from parents for abuse/neglect and then returned to these same people only to have it happen again. There are a lot of us out there that would love to have a baby but have difficulties that prevent us from getting pregnant and here are these people having babies who are drug addicted and abused. I also think anyone in a methadone clinic should have to take birth control at the time of getting their pill or be refused the program which has also turned out to be a free way of drug seekers to receive their "high". This country is much worse off than these countries we say we are trying to help out.

I don't think the government hate children. The pure fact is they can't vote so therefore the government has no interest in them.

JEB.........HOW STUPID CAN ONE PERSON BE? DO YOU THINK THAT THOSE COUNTIES ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH "NASTY/LAZY" PEOPLE IN THEM. UNFORTUNATELY, MOST COUNTIES HAVE THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF PEOPLE IN THEM. IF THE TRUTH BE KNOWN YOU ARE PROBABLY ONE OF THEM.....OR AT LEAST HAVE THE SAME MENTALITY!!!
