600 Kentucky National Guard members received a heroes welcome Sunday.
Family and friends welcomed them home with a celebration at Rupp Arena.
The one-hundred forty-ninth infantry mountain warriors provided security and conducted combat patrols.
Other men and women belong to the transportation company and ran daily supply missions for the army.
The troops were deployed in October 2006.
