Williams and Farmer will run as Republican slate

27 NEWSFIRST has learned that Kentucky Senate President David Williams (R-Burkesville) will make a run for the Governor's office next year, and Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer will join the ticket in the Lieutenant Governor slot.

Sources indicate the official announcement will come on Wednesday.

Williams has served as President of the Kentucky Senate since 2000 when the Republican Party gained control of the chamber for the first time in modern state history.

Farmer is in his second term as Agriculture Commissioner. He is also a former basketball player for the University of Kentucky.

Businessman Phil Moffett recently announced he is also seeking the Republican nomination for governor. His running mate is state Rep. Mike Harmon (R-Danville).

The candidates will face a primary election next May.

Suffered from Republicans? Really? Out of the last fifty years alone there has only been 2 Republican administrations and they were relentlessly attacked their whole administration and shut down from governing. This is a HEAVILY Democratic Party State Politically. The only reason why we have gone Republican for the presidential elections is because people are waking up to the cost of massive government dependence. I'm hopeful that this ticket will be a TRUE change in the status quo but It looks like I'll have to wade through a whole bunch of liberal news speak to get to the truth.

We Kenticans have suffered from Republicns also. None we have had past years are fit for a dog catcher. They are CORRUPT and fill their own pockets even changing the Daniel Boone Pkwy to the Hal Rogers Parkway. No REPUBLICAN alive can compare or excell what Daniel Boone did. Get real. I am a Republican but down with David Williams, Richie Farmer, and Stevie Bobblehead Brazear. LOL Bunch of Dogs is all we have in our State Political Offices. THEY ALL should RESIGN Immediately. We need working people in office, not scum bags.

Blame it on Democrats and Republicans both. The Truth will Stand when Hell freezes over. I'm so glad to get to vote against David Williams and Farmer may have to become a school teacher, I'v even seen here where someone Quoted Charles Barkley Famous lol. I am just another dumb state worker making what I did 6 years ago, no increases, just Stevie wobble head cuts. Our Health Ins for next year is a disaster. Why people in State Govt don't vote for a Union amazes me. I'd rather have anyone stand up for me as nobody. My dad always said, a person that won't stand up for anything, will Fall for Anything. We as state workers, aren't elected, or appointed, we don't get tp play Golf with all the Political hotshots and I have seen them drive state vehicles. We work hard and our Politicians blame it all on us. SHAME on THEM ALL. 6 days off work without pay is horrible. All the appointed hot shots will get days to play golf and since they all are on salary you think they care? Vote against ALL them

VOTE FOR NO INCUMBANTS PEOPLE. I work for the state and had GOV not allowed Ritchie Farmer to sell State Vehicles with 50,000 and less mileage, IT WOULD have been enough money to pay us backbone workers without having to take off 6 days without pay. Our Govenor is no better than Farmer or David Williams. Stae employees need to openly come against this and ensure all their families vote against these corrupt nuts that created this mess and remember giving themselves 7% pay raises while we get nothing. PUT all LEGISLATORS on our insurrance and retirement program. They are NOT PUBLIC SERVANTS and they serve themselves only. FRANKFORT Politicans, I point my finger in your face and CLEARLY say to you that YOU CREATED this MESS, Not the STATE WORKERS. YOU MAKE ME PUKE. SHAME ON YOU BOTH DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS. PEOPLE, wake up, Vote for NONE of these CRONIES. GOD HAVE MERCY and HELL has room for all you crooks. GO GATEWOOD.
