Non-Compliant Sex Offender Found Living In Madison County Shelter

A convicted sex offender is under arrest after police say he did not register his new address in Madison County.

Richmond Police arrested 26 year old Mendell Hymer yesterday after getting a tip he was living with his girlfriend and her two children at a family shelter.

Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST he violated his parole by having contact with minors and not re-registering.

Mendell is charged with failure to comply with the Sex Offender Registry, but police say more charges are possible.

Did his girlfriend not know he was a registered sex offender. Single women need to be more aware of who they allow around their children, they need to think of their children more instead of themselves to avoid situations such as this and the possibility of their children being hurt or murdered.
