New Hospital Could Improve Healthcare Across The Region

They say it could improve healthcare across the region.

It's a brand new, 150 million dollar hospital in London.

Marymount Medical Center, for the first time, showed off what it's new hospital will look like.

The property in London is near the I-75 and 192 junction and they say by 2010 it will be up and running.

Heart surgeon Jim Shoptaw says he's only able to do about half the cardiac procedures his patients need.

“We'll have double the size operating room and with medical care advancing we'll be able to add more technical advances to the operating room,” Dr. Shoptaw said.

All rooms in the new hospital will be private rooms.

With new advanced equipment and more procedures offered.

Doctors say they hope patients won't have to go elsewhere for treatment.

The hospital is designed to give patients a room with a view.

The new hospital is also expected to provide new jobs.

When complete it could employ up to four hundred people.
