It's the first day of Elk Season and hunters across Kentucky weighed in on their gains this Saturday afternoon.
Saturday marks the tenth year for elk hunting in Kentucky.
This year, 300 hunters were allowed to hunt for elk in the hills.
The fish and wildlife commission says having the animals here is a big advantage for Kentuckians.
Gassett also says the animals increase tourism to the region, bringing hunters, photographers, and others just hoping to catch a glimpse of the elk.
