JJ was one of "two" radio personalities I pattern my style after. He was charasmatic and colorful and never met a stranger. His personality was the same in public as it was behind the mic. JJ will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him If you never had the pleasure of meeting JJ, then you missed an opprotunity to have a true friend for life. So long JJ!

JJ or old double hooks was a colorful character. He was my mentor and my friend. His life was radio. His passing is filled with sadness.

I am greatly saddened by the death of my friend James W. (J.J.) Johnson from the car accident of last Sunday. He was a great person, a great radio personality, and a great friend. Always friendly and very upbeat. I know I missed him when he left our Pulaski County radio station WTLO and and will miss him even more in death. He did such a good job and was loved by our community. We have lost a great person and friend. Nancy Simpson, Somerset, Ky.
