October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and people gathered at the hot pink and cool blues bash to support local cancer patients.
WYMT's Dara Rees was on hand for the event.
Survivors and supporters joined together raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer.
The hot pink and blues bash, sponsored by the Pikeville Medical Center's After Breast Cancer Support Group raise money to provide free mammograms to uninsured women.
Last year's bash covered 30 free mammograms for local women and this year hopes to cover even more.
These women and men danced the night away all for a good cause. All proceeds from the hot pink and blues bash go directly to support local cancer patients.
A silent auction, a live auction and corporate sponsors helped raise money to support local women.
Some of the money also supports personal items for women such as wigs, prosthetics, and support books. Everyone's experience with cancer is unique.
These women use the After Breast Cancer support group to connect and share stories of strength, hope, and survival.
The After Breast Cancer Support Group meets the second Monday of every month and is not only for survivors, but family members of care-givers as well.
