Deadly Wrong-Way Crash Still Under Investigation

A central Kentucky woman is dead after sideswiping two cars and colliding with another on Interstate 75.

While driving in the southbound lanes, 78-year-old Lillian Delph of Richmond crossed over in the northbound lanes and was pronounced dead by police after a head-on collision with an oncoming car.

The SUV was being driven by James Sorrel of Lexington, who is still recovering at UK Hospital.

The drivers of the two sideswiped cars were not injured.

This is such as bad situation all around. I have for a long time felt the need for a law to test older drivers more often to see if they are cabable of driving at an age such as this. This is harch but I am sorry, I have friends and family on the road that I love dearly. I have seen over the years many older folks that should not be behind the wheel. I am sorry that they would lose their independance but lives are a heck of a lot more important!

That ramp at exit 95 is a terrible mess anyway. Local traffic managers installed lights there about a year ago and made it even worse. It is a very confusing intersection and I can see how someone might take a wrong turn onto a ramp. The amount of large truck traffic and the lights makes it a very dangerous place. I travel this way several times a day.

This is tragic. I pray for the family, for God's comfort in this most difficult time. Mr. Sorrel, I wish you a speedy recovery.
