Lexington Prepares For Big Weekend

Lexington is preparing for a population boom, but it's just for the weekend.

More than 7,000 LSU fans are headed to town, along with all the visitors to Keeneland and fans for Big Blue Madness.

That has some folks wondering if Lexington has enough hotels and restaurants to handle everyone!

If you're looking for hotel or dinner reservations this weekend you're likely out of luck.

Whether it's horse racing, basketball or football action you're craving, you certainly won't be alone this weekend.

This will be a good test for Lexington residents in preparation for the 2010 World Equestrian Games.

People in the hotel and restaurant industry say a weekend like this is good practice for everyone.

Hopefully there won't be any big surprises this weekend, as of this afternoon, there were only a handful of hotel rooms left in Lexington.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau says it is directing people to surrounding towns to find a place to stay.

That means as usual, a complete breakdown of infrastructure. This city cant handle a car wreck, or rush hour much less this, I'm leaving Lexington for the weekend, I feel sorry for the rest of you!
