Search underway for runaway teen mothers

NICHOLASVILLE, KY -- Authorities are seeking help in finding two juvenile females -- one pregant and the other with an infant daughter -- who ran away from a facility for unwed mothers yesterday in Jessamine County.

Jessamine County Sheriff's Deputy John R. Sallee said 16-year old Stephanie Lynn Doughton, who is pregnant, and 14-year old Chelsea K. Hawkins, with her 3-month old daughter, disappeared about 7 a.m. Friday from "All God's Children" in Nicholasville.

The facility is for young females who have or are expecting children, located in a historic mansion on U.S. 27 in Jessamine County.

Doughton is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 135 pounds with fair skin and a thin build. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt with white lettering. She has a butterfly tattoo on her lower back.

Sheriff's deputies say Hawkins is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 150 pounds with fair skin and a medium build. She was last scene wearing blue jeans, an unknown type of blouse and pink and white shoes. Officials say the two may have a black diaper bag with them.

Authorities say Hawkins' daughter, Madison Barnhart, was last seen wrapped in a pink blanket.

The Jessamine County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information about the case to call them at (859) 885-4139.

All God's Children is not affiliated with any particular church. Cindy is misinformed if she thinks people are self righteous when dealing with these Mothers! This is a place to heal all past hurts, and too grow self esteem. many, but not all, have either been in their shoes, or have a loved one who has. To label these people self righteous, or bigots, is ignorant of the facts. These Mothers are loved, in ways many have never experienced before. All that is asked in return, is that they complete the program, to be able to fend for themselves, and their children.

All God's Children is a place to nurture both mother and Baby. They do not take the children from the mothers. They give parenting classes, school tutoring, room and board, and help give the young mothers a chance to learn a skill, so they will be able to support their baby and themselves.

These are two troubled teens that have a history of bad behavior. One has absolutely been court ordered to be at this facility. And you tell a 3-month old baby in danger near Lexington? These "children" need help, but the first need to turn themselves in, because their loved one's are worried.

Does the word "runaway" mean they could just leave. I don't think so. First, they are young girls out in our not so safe world. Second one is pregnant. And third, a 14 year old girl with a 3 month old daughter. I pray that they are all found safe.

If it is a place for unwed teen mothers what business is it of ours if they want to leave? Why would we help you find them? Maybe they decided they didnt want to be there anymore. By the name of the place it sounds connected to some kind of church. Which, lets face it, around here means it is most likely filled with self-righteous people who just make them feel bad about themselves. They have enough problems without needing that. So unless they are court ordered to be there do to some crime they committed, this is not news and there is no reason for us to look for them.

Are the mothers troubled teens? Or are they just young mothers that decided they didn't want to be there anymore? Just curious. They can't run long, I just pray for their safety while they are running.
