Heavy Safe Stolen From Lexington Restaurant

It's a bizarre crime, that has many shaking their heads tonight.

Police say burglars somehow made off with a large safe belonging to a popular Lexington restaurant.

It happened Sunday night at Alfalfa, on Main Street in Downtown Lexington.

The safe weighs more than 100 pounds and had thousands of dollars inside.

What's more, the restaurant is within sight of both the Fayette County Courthouse and a police station.

So far, police do not have any suspects, but workers at Alfalfa say it's possible the burglary was an inside job.

Alfalfa workers say they didn't see any forced entry into the restaurant.

Dave from Lex, why don't you read a book and try to learn something. The police don't make the laws, they just enforce them. That's a point a lot of you cry babies seem to miss. If you don't like the laws, blame the LAW MAKERS not law enforcement (edited).

I have it from a good source that it was neither Buck Wheat or Spanky. Buck Wheat was seen around Fifth & Smith Streets trying to score a twenty twenty twenty at the time of the heist. Spanky on the other hand was spotted by several at a book store on Winchester Road, go figure.

I just cannot belive that our brilliant police dept has not solved this crime yet. What are they doing out there. No more water violations to look for. I really don't mean that. I just said it so you would read it.

if they clean up the room they might just find it in that mess. wow when was the last time it was cleaned? over 100 lbs and took Arnold, wow farmers throw 100 lb feed sacks on their shoulders everyday, but i suppose this shocks the city folks.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if it is small enough to be carried away it is not "safe". If it is that small why was it not bolted securely to a wall or concrete floor? Business owners who are so cheap and refuse to buy a commercial grade safe are setting themselves up for robberies/burglaries such as this. This is not a "Bizarre" crime, I am amazed that you don't hear of this stuff more often!
