Shots Fired At Officers In Magoffin County

State Police say shots were fired at Magoffin County Sheriff Bob Jordan and troopers following a chase tonight in Magoffin County.

It happened in Royalton off Half Mountain Road.

State Police say troopers were called to assist the sheriff with a DUI
arrest when someone started firing shots after the DUI suspect was pulled over.

Police say nobody was hurt.

The sheriff told WYMT when reached by cell phone that he'd been shot at but wasn't hurt.

He later told us he'd been pinned down for about two hours while the shots were fired.

Police say the only person arrested was the DUI suspect, who is a juvenile, and that person wasn't the one who fired the shots.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The DUI suspect was taken to the Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Johnson County to be checked out.

The sheriff says there are extra officers at the hospital for security reasons.
