Lexington Man Arrested For Beating Two-Month-Old Girl

A two-month-old Lexington girl is fighting for her life at the UK hospital after being severely beaten.

Police have arrested the mother’s boyfriend for hurting the baby.
Reginald Vann Phifer is charged with first degree assault.

According to a police report, Phifer bashed the girls head against a bed post then tried to smother her.

A family friend says the girl fractured her skull and is suffering from hemorrhaging and seizures.

She is listed in serious condition in intensive care at the UK hospital.
Police tell us more charges could be filed in this case.

Phifer appeared in court on Friday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

HE WILL GET WHAT'S COMING TO HIM. BUT HONESTLY ASK YOURSELF HOW "NOBODY" NOTICED THE SIGNS THAT WERE VISABLE BEFOR THIS HAPPENED. AFTER ALL I DON'T THINK THIS CHILD IS THE FIRST PERSON THAT THIS MAN HAS PHYSICALY ABUSED, BUT WE KNOW FOR SURE, IT WILL PROBALY BE HIS LAST. I'M PRAYING THAT THE CHILD MAKES A FULL RECOVERY, AND THE MOTHER WILL PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. WE AS WOMAN HAVE TO STOP OUR ABUSERS!PROTECT OURSELVES, AND OUR BABIES....

We need to study our Bibles and know that the ruler of earth right now is satan. He is the prince of the air that he Bible speaks of. Also, know that events such as these are spoken of as signs of end times. We need to look to God for salavation and pray for His will be done whether it be recovery for this baby or not. Ther is no punishment that we can deliver to this man that will be worse than what he will get at the white throne judgement. Remember pray always for God's will for it is perfect and right.

This (edited) beating the baby has nothing to do with whether she was married or not.If you're an (edited) before you get married, you'll be an (edited) after the fact. How often do we hear about not just boyfriends, but supposed fathers abusing or killing their babys? You can bet your life this woman knew the kind of man he is,and she probably knew he wanted no part of dealing with this baby.Whether she was there or not,she would have known how this man would be by his reaction to the baby while she was with him and the baby.Hold them both responsible. To Jim-you full well KNOW the 'justice system' is a joke.I'm not claiming to be a christian, but I do hope this baby comes through this alright. That being said,I think this loser most certainly needs to have his head bashed in,and have a few bones broken. If this type of 'justice' were invoked, maybe these idiots would think twice before harming the innocents.God forgives because he's God-we're only human. This useless THING needs to suffer.

Having known several inmates in my life trust me. If he goes to prison he is in trouble. Those prisoners know exactly what each inmate is in for (they have ways of finding out the truth). Then some BIG BUBBA will make him his punk wife. In the big house they hate child abusers and elderly abusers. We can only hope and pray the child recovers fully. May God be with the baby.

And once again, another BOYFRIEND beats a child. When are women going to realize this is not a good idea. Keep your freakin legs together and we won't have these things happening. If you aren't married, don't get pregnant.

REALITY made it simple, all this is talk, all the heart-felt condolences in the world won't stop this from happening again. Write your congressman, senator, etc. and tell them we're sick of this crap happining and unless the laws change we'll change our voting stratagies come electon time. Unfortunately this is the only way we're going to see any changes!

I've read the comments here. If all of us are sick and tired of this kind of thing happening to our children (and I am) then why not start by protesting at the Capitol grounds? Demanding stiffer penatlies for these child killer/abusers. It will change only when we as the people make our voice heard where it counts in Frankfort, not on this website! I would be willing to start a grassroots movement to protest the laws/penalties for crime against children. If you are truly interesting in making a change, then contact me at chsmith1108@yahoo.com. I for one am ready for a change in the laws on crime against children!
