Police Investigating Northern Kentucky Murder-Suicide Case

In Northern Kentucky, a grandmother and father are dead from what Covington Police call a murder-suicide.

A Cincinnati T.V. Station reports relatives say the woman was protecting her six-year-old granddaughter.

Police say Betty Hamilton shot and killed Charles Johnson, then killed herself on Sunday.

Relatives say Johnson had abused Hamilton's granddaughter and was about to begin unsupervised visits with the girl.

The system failed everyone in this case. Lets remember that Lisa Osborne Bushelman made the rulings in this case. We need to get her off the bench.

It would be nice for people to hear the fathers side of the story. Charles was not perfect...but who is. He did have run-ins's with the law, but the majority of that occurred when he was very young. There is no evidence to support the families abuse accusations. It is not fair persecute a dead man. He was murdered over issues of control, race, and hate. The grandmother has been made out to be some type of marter…let’s remember she’s a MURDERED!

Alleged does not mean substantiated. There is never a reason to kill an innocent man

I don't blame her. I would have done the same thing if I had been in her shoes. It is a shame that she had to go to those extremes to protect her grandchild though, now the grandchild will have to grow up with out her there. Real shame... Why didn't the courts help her daughter before it came to this. Again I would have done the same thing... better to kill him then give him the chance to abuse the little one again!
