Police Release Cruiser Video Of Principal Dressed In Drag

Louisville police say the spotted 50-year-old Paul Schum of Louisville dressed like a woman in an alley and cited him. In the video taken from a police cruiser camera Shum is seen wearing a black leather mini skirt and fishnet stockings. Police say he also had a wig and fake breasts. Officers say the found sexual items.

Officer Phil Russell says beat officers routinely patrol the area because a high-level of drug trafficking and prostitution is known to take place there.

Schum requested personal leave from his job at Bethlehem High
School after police cited him.

The Archdiocese of Louisville oversees the school and says Schum
denies the allegation. The statement says he requested personal
leave from his post pending the outcome of the investigation. He is
scheduled to appear in court on November 27th.

Schum teaches chemistry at Bethlehem and worked for 26 years at
St. Xavier High School in Louisville.

I don't buy the whole Halloween dressing up part. If he wanted to choose a costume, there are tons of things he could have been-besides a woman. The fact that he dressed as a woman is kind of questionable. I think he just saw Halloween as a good time to go out in drag and use it as an excuse.

there has to be more than what has been told.1st judge not less ye be judged.his faith or religious belief have nothing to do with anything the real issue is whether or not he has a problem and if he needs to be teaching i don't know him but i know that no one is perfect i pray for him and his family i do have to say that if he was teaching my children i would have to be concerned and i would have some questions but if he has been teaching for 20 years and had done anything inappropriate don't you think it would have come out in the open by now if you are concerned question but don't bash hatred for someone or something you know nothing about just creates a space where that evil and ill will can grow.

Apparently he was charged with prostitution, though teh citation does not seem to have much evidence for it. innocent until proven guilty, folks. he was still in his car.

If some of you feel so stongly about teachers being so incompetent as teachers of your children, why send them to school. Why not keep them home and teach them yourself. If you dont have respect for teachers you will teach your children not to have respect and I dont want those kids in my class. So if you think that you have enough education and paid for four years in school and had all the training then by all means keep your kids home. But will your kids suffer from your narrow-mindedness and incompetence. You say teachers are out for themselves. There is not a single teacher who is in it for the money or the fame because you will never get that in the schools. You want to change the school system, then stop wasting your time bashing people and teachers and go to college and get a degree and do something about it. Until then consider that your children listen to everything you say and I hope someone will be able to correct the damage you have done.

This would be an entirely different matter, had he harrassed or molested students, but the way i read this, this was away from school, and has nothing to do with kids. Evidently Mr,Shum is a very good teacher, and was highly respected enough to be the prinicipal of an excellent school. My heart goes out to the guy and his family, as well as those who have respected him over the years. Lets quit crucifying the guy and Catholic men in general.. Never ceases to amaze me how narrow minded and religiously intolerant some of you fine church going people are.

Oh yes lets bash all teachers. They don't care about the kids, they are all bad examples, they just do the job for the BIG BUCKS....some folks need to get a clue.

I think that it is expecting a lot from parents to ask us to trust these teachers and principals. You see as many stories in the news about the corruptions of teachers as you do parents. It seems as if they think we should adhere to everything they think concerning our children...regardless of our opinions. I think they should work with parents..not think they are better. This shows you that they aren't better. We do have some great teachers and principals. But no one can tell me that they have my childs interest at heart more than I do. Most are out for themselves. The school systems are as political as Frankfort. Children should not be taught to trust a teacher just because they work at a school. I don't care if the man dressed in drag. It is wrong. It is not something our children need taught. If he wants to wear dresses, he needs to stay home with heavy blinds....and stay away from our children. He is bound to try to get a child to see things his way at some time.

In response to Gary - did you read the second part of my comment? Or did you stop at the first sentence? Do you not follow what goes on around the world? Have you heard recently of a teacher or preacher at say, a Baptist school, doing something such as this? My point is it that it will not surprise me to learn he was molested as a child and this could be the explanation (albeit a poor one) for this behavior. I agree with the other posters - child molesters exhibit these sort of fantasies or behaviors, so it is scary that he was around children.
