Boy Who Called 911 After Mother Killed Will Live With Father

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) - A nine-year-old who called 911 to report that his mother and grandmother had been fatally shot at his home will be reunited with his biological father.

A family court judge in Hardin County awarded custody of the boy, Matthew Pete, to his father, Michael Pete. The father is an active duty soldier stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Danielle Beaman is a friend of Matthew's mother. She says he's excited to go home with his father.

The fate of Matthew's two siblings remains unclear.

He called 911 on September 12th to report that his mother, 31-year-old Tracy Burke, and her mother-in-law from a previous marriage, 53-year-old Karen Comer, had been killed the night before at Comer's Rineyville home. The call was replayed by several media outlets.
