11-year-old is back with his parents after facing a judge Tuesday

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - New information this afternoon about an elementary school student in Pulaski County who brought a loaded gun to school.

The sheriff tells us the 11-year-old boy is now out of a juvenile detention center and back with his parents after going in front of a judge this morning.

The school system says the 11-year-old mistakenly brought the gun to Southern Elementary yesterday and notified a teacher as soon as he realized he had the weapon.

The sheriff says the child was charged with a felony.

The school superintendent tells us he has been expelled.
