Candidates Crisscrossing State Before Election

The fight seems to be getting tougher with every passing minute.

Today Fletcher, Beshear and their running mates have been setting the campaign trail ablaze, stopping off in as much of Kentucky as they can.

Kentucky's race for governor ends tomorrow, when voters decide if Governor Ernie Fletcher or Democrat Steve Beshear will guide Kentucky during the next four years.

Both Beshear and Fletcher were on fly-arounds today, rallying supporters at stops across the state.

Governor Fletcher started his day in Lexington, before flying to Ashland, Louisville, London, and Paducah, among other cities.

Meanwhile, Steve Beshear began in Paducah, before going to Hazard, Ashland, Northern Kentucky, and Louisville.

He'll end his tour in Lexington, tonight.

AP Story

Steve Beshear and Governor Ernie Fletcher will be crisscrossing the state today in the final hours before tomorrow's election.

Beshear received a warm welcome last night at his hometown in
Dawson Springs, where supporters gathered to rally for the
Democratic nominee for governor. Earlier in the day Beshear told a group of senior citizens in Owensboro that if elected he will try to help seniors make their prescription drug payments.

Governor Fletcher spent yesterday in Louisville and northern
Kentucky urging supporters to keep working and beating the bushes
until Election Day. Fletcher told a crowd in Louisville he won't stop working until he captures re-election. Supporters say they're not worried about polls that show the governor trailing Beshear by double digits.
