A gruesome discovery for a Lee county dog lover this weekend after she found the puppy she rescued decapitated in her front yard.

It happened in Beattyville.

Jodi Reaves says she had just rescued the puppy a day earlier.

Now she is outraged someone wonder how someone could be so cruel.

The Lee County Sheriff's Department says they're investigating, but at this point have no suspects.

the problem is no animal or child should be tortured-not ever-and no diifference should be made between a puppy and a child- they are both innocents- but there is a disproportionately large amount of mental illness in kentucky which leads to violence against the most helpless, and a disproportionately high percentage of people who either don't want to be bothered, or who are very comfortable with revering only human life and treat all other life as a disposable after-thought- all this religion in kentucky and very little compassion or humanity -either way their attitudes are despicable-anyone who harms an animal or person has no redeemable value-and is so much human trash indeed, is anyone out there aware of what horrific violence it takes to decapitate a puppy- try imagining it happening, and if you get the picture just right, you are sure to become an advocate for "the beasts and the children-who have no voice".

To Cindy- maybe you have issues too, or just heartless, how can you just forget about something like this? And someone said she should have the dog in the house...okay...maybe she is allergic to animals or she just don't wanna have the dog in there...I mean come on, I am an animal lover, I have cats and dogs, but they stay out side because of my allergies....does that make me an unfit owner?

this is just the reason that I'm starting a PETA chapter in somerset. Our school mascot is a rabbit (briar jumpers!?) How freaking goofey is that? I love animals, that's why I go do the lake everyday and catch fish to put in the bath tub. That way when the lake dries up due to global warming and the leaking dam, they will be safe. Don't tell me I'm not on the ball!

If you all paid attention to anything you would know there are two or three times this many comments when something happens to a child. Cindy, it's called compassion-try it! Torturing a puppy is not the same as hunting and you know it.

i am sick of hearing about the poor animals all the time while your in your kitchen frying chickens, cows and pigs. Hunters shooting rabbits, deer, ducks etc. but god forbid kill a dog, horse or cat. And dont give me the food is killed humanely crap because we all know its a lie and a lot of hunters dont eat the animals they kill either. I guess they are all serial killers in the making.

I have a yorkie beside me on my couch.I love her very much. She's like a second child to me.However,There are more comments posted about this dog being killed then I've seen on ANY post when the news reports a child being abused and murdered.I'm not saying this isn't a sad thing;I'm not saying to not care for animals...they do need our love and care,BUT PEOPLE,IT WAS A DOG!If half you people would put the effort and care into when a child gets slaughtered by someone, this would be a much better world to live in.

I am so sick of people that always comment about the murderers, thiefs, rapist and so that we should focus on and not a poor defenseless animal.Yes those crimes are more important but my point is who is there for the animals. All kinds of laws for people but in this state pets don't have a voice and abuse is not punished harsh enough. To me thats where other crimes usually escalate from.I've written and e-mailed numerous gov. officials to get Ky's laws changed for animals, and although I've had no positive response,I won't give up.If we don't speak for them who will?
