Former Jail Guard Appears In Court

A former Fayette County Jail guard appeared in court Wednesday on official misconduct charges in connection with a murder suspect who's now on the run.

John McCoy, II plead not guilty to a misconduct charge.

Marlowe Valentine, who had been held in the Fayette County Jail, told investigators McCoy and another guard stole more than $300 from him.

After Valentine made the allegations, he was moved to the Jefferson County Jail.

A judge allowed Valentine out of jail on a pass to visit a doctor in Lexington.

Valentine didn't return when he was supposed to on Monday, so police began looking for him.

He was last seen at a Georgetown gas station.

No John McCoy, a Inmate is a Inmate. You admitted to taking a loan. You extorted the money because he is a inmate. (edited)

It wasnt one word against the other people! He was caught getting the money from Valentine's family member. Just because Valentine is a crook doesnt mean McCoy isnt. He too should sit in jail like the rest of the crooks.

I can't believe that the fayette county jail would take the word of a convicted killer and his girlfriend who are now on the run over a veteran jailor. What has this judical system come to?

Why would the jail believe a convicted killer over one of their own officers, especially an inmate that is a manipulater.Jail officials must be as gulible as that judge in louisville. This is our judical system KY.

This Shows how manipilating this inmate can be, He manipulated fayette county jail into these alligations of misconduct against officers to be moved to another county jail close by now he manipulated a judge to release him for a dr's app so he could escape. All this looks fishy to me. Plus if he was awarded all that money in a law suit why is he stealing gas for his escape?????????

SO who's the guilty one here, looks like Valentine is covering up some kind of lies here. I think that charges against McCoy should be dropped and he should be reinstated and given a former apolagy by the jail.
