Judge Russell Alred send Michael Ashley, A former teacher and convicted rapist, home for the holidays. This is such a mockery of our justice system when this man was convicted by a jury of his peeps.

I cannot believe this. He is a good man who would never harm anyone. I was a former student of his when him and Lisa lived in northern kentucky. They stood by myside as I was battling my illness. He was the only teacher who came to the hospital and my house to check on me. We never had any problems of him trying to make moves on me. Mr.Ashley is wonderful person and is a close friend of our family. I don't agree one bit with the jury. They need to provide lot more evidence to change my mind.

Also believe this teacher to be innocent. Jury bought off? I doubt it. We possibly have a better Judge now, but the attornies? We certainly have no "Matlocks" nor "Andy Griffiths" in this small town.

Carol, how dare someone with no knowledge of the case claim "ZERO EVIDENCE", when there was an overwhelming amount of evidence in the case. You must watch too much CSI, and you obviously know nothing about the Criminal Justice System in this country! After reading your comment I now truly know that ignorance is bliss. I hope your child was never a student of his.

this is to the previous comment...How do you know there were zero evidence against him!! Kids do lie but they had two witnesses. Do you really want a man like this teaching your kids...I don't...I think all the preaching he did that he was innocent and going to church was all fake. He thought he could get out of it. I think he got what he deserved. I just feel sorry for his family.

Carol...How do you know that there was "ZERO" evidence against him? Were you in the courtroom? I don't believe you were...it was a "closed door" trial.

How on earth did this man get convicted with ZERO evidence against him? Was the jury bought off?

I was a student of Michael Ashley's several years before this incident occurred, and I can say, without hesitation, that he is guilty. I am elated that one young lady had the courage to finally break Mr. Ashley's cycle of abuse.
