Teens Injured In Hamburg Crash

Two Powell County teens are recovering after their truck crashed early Friday morning, at Hamburg Pavilion.

Police say their truck hit a car at the intersection of Sir Barton Way and Winchester Road around 4 A.M.

The force of the crash caused the truck to flip several times.

18-year-old Ryan Tipton was thrown from the truck. His friend, 18-year-old James Foster was pinned inside.

Both were taken to the hospital, but have since been released.

Tipton suffered third degree burns on his hands and legs.

He also had to have several stitches.

The teens were heading to Hamburg to shop at the time of the crash.

if i was told that i had to wait until i was 21 to drive, when i would have started, i would have made sure it was hell for the old (edited) drivng now since people think teens are so many problems on the road.

I think it is due to the traffic and the screwed up lighting system out at Hamburg. Forget about how old the drivers are, the city needs to fix the problem.

I know the 3 boys who were injured in the wreck. It doesn't matter how old they were or whose fault it was. All that matters is that everyone is OK!

Nah(edited), It meant he was pulled completely to the left side of the road even in the grass stopped and didn't have a turn signal on or anything so I went to go straight in my lane and he turned right into me

I work in a hospital, and to be brutally honest, most mva we see are older people. Imagine that?

The original story states the teens were turning left, had a green light, but did not have a green ARROW and pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle. This has nothing to do with age but more with the fact KY does not have mandatory driver's training imposed and also the fact, most people are driving while distracted more than when WE (older folks) grew up. And a note to Anonymous in Stanton; you said **An old man caused me to total my car Monday cause he failed to use a turn signal and my car failed to stop on a wet road.** That just means you were traveling too close to him. If him not using a turn signal made you crash, you were also at fault for tailgating.

Did you have to wait until you were 21 when you started driving?
