Robbery suspect turns himself, money in to police

TAYLOR MILL - Less than 24 hours after the Fifth Third Bank on Old Taylor Mill Road was robbed, a man suspected in the crime turned himself - and the cash - in to police. reports NKY.Com, the Website for the Cincinnati Enquirer and Post in their Sunday on-line edition.

Stephen L. Sparks, 54, of St. Bernard, admitted to the crime, police said. He also returned the money Saturday morning, according to Taylor Mill Sgt. Scott O'Brien.

"He came in voluntarily, spoke to us - he even brought the money back," he said.

He said Sparks, who is from the St. Bernard area, contacted an acquaintance, a Cincinnati police officer, about the crime, reports the Enquirer.

Cincinnati police contacted Taylor Mill and brought Sparks to police headquarters, where he was arrested on the robbery charge around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
