Hearings Begin On Water Pipeline Proposals

The State Public Service Commission will begin hearings today from both sides about two different water pipeline proposals.

Kentucky American Water wants to build a plant at the Kentucky River at the Franklin-Owen County line with a pipeline stretching to Lexington.

The Louisville Water Company wants to build a pipeline along I-64 to eventually bring water from the Ohio River to Lexington.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the commission hearings are expected to last three days with a decision early next year.

This pipeline is a horrible idea, surely there are better and closer sources of fresh drinking water than the freaking OHIO RIVER!
