Family Receives Home Improvement Gift

All one central Kentucky family asked for was a few pieces of wood, what they got was a whole lot more.

The idea of giving this holiday season took on new meaning today in Mt. Sterling.

On an ordinary day, Matt Paynter, his wife, and fellow co-workers would be helping customers at Lowe's, but today, they've brought the help to a home in their community.

Ever since Misty Morris' mother, Tracy, had a stroke last month, life has been a challenge.

Her mother has been restricted to a wheelchair since the stroke, and the stairs leading up to their house have been quite a burden.

Misty says she called Lowe's asking them to donate lumber to she could build a ramp, and she says she was shocked when they called back and said not only would they donate lumber, but they would build the ramp as well.

Armed with lumber and tools, and inspired by the season of giving, Matt Paynter says he and his team are happy to help a family in need.

As the progress becomes evident, Misty knows a wheelchair ramp will make things much easier for her and her family.

The team told 27 NEWSFIRST that they expected to complete the project today.
