Springfield Man Arrested, Charged With Murdering Brother

SPRINGFIELD, KY -- A 21-year old Washington County man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his brother early Sunday.

Kentucky State Police at the Columbia Post report Nicholas C. Cox is lodged inthe Marion County Detention Center in Lebanon following the discovery early Sunday morning of his 24-year old brother Michael B. Cox inside his residence.

The incident occured around 1:30 a.m. seven miles north of Springfield on Bloomfield Road, where officers discovered Cox's body after responding to a report of a disturbance.

Police say it appeared the older Cox had been shot during a domestic dispute between he and his younger brother. Springfield Police investigated the incident and notified the KSP.

Detective Israel Slinker is investigating the incident.
