Police Chase Ends In Crash

A police chase early Tuesday morning in Madison County ended in a crash that sent the suspect to the hospital.

Richmond Police say they were trying to stop the suspect, Don "Tony" Fitzpatrick, after receiving a report he violated an emergency protective order.

The chase stretched ten or 12 miles out Tates Creek Road and ended on Maple Grove Road.

Fitzpatrick crashed his car in a ditch and was taken to Pattie A. Clay Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

He was then taken to jail, where he's charged with fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment and violating an EPO.

Police say Fitzpatrick tried to ram a police cruiser during the chase.

No police officers were injured.
