Statue Found, Two Arrested In Apparent Prank

Police have found an expensive statue that was stolen from a Central Kentucky park.

The bronze statue of a little girl went missing from a new display symbolizing Berea's history.

The theft was caught on video by a Peoples Bank security camera.

Berea Police say the surveillance pictures helped them receive information that led to the arrests of James "Tony" Adams, 23, and Joshua Arnold, 20, both of Berea.

Police say Adams and Arnold stole the statue as a prank then got scared, so they dumped the statue at a remote location in Garrard County.

The statue received minor damage and is back with the City Parks Department.

It just goes to show all you naysayers out there that the "Big Brother" society we live in DOES NOT invade your privacy. If it weren't for the cameras, these two punks would have probably gotten away with it. Cameras 1, Punks 0.

My lord! How ignorant people can be.These two are well old enough to know better and SHOULD have better sense than to take something not theirs.Whether they took the statue to sell or a prank, has no bearing-bottom line is they took it,and now they have to deal with the consequences. It amazes me how 20-something year olds dont have the common sense of a 5 year old.(shaking my head at this story)

What in the world is wrong with people? Is times that bad that they have to steel their way through life??? There is no excuse for this nonsense... They all should be hung in front of the court house and allow the towns people to watch it, then you would see crime rate decrease. No matter their race.

The theft of recyclable metals has gotten ridiculous. If the authorities would police the places that buy this metal more, then some of this would stop. If they couldn't sell it they wouldn't steal it. I've never seen them prosecute the buyers. Why not? They wouldn't be so quick to buy the stuff if they thought there were any consequences!!
