Luallen Says "No Thanks"

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - State Auditor Crit Luallen says she
doesn't plan to enter next year's race for Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell's seat.

Her decision will recast the likely lineup of Democrats wanting
to challenge the four-term Republican.

Another Democrat, Iraq war veteran Andrew Horne, said he's a
likely candidate in next year's race. Horne had said he would defer
to Luallen if she joined the race.

State Attorney General Greg Stumbo is another prominent Democrat
considering a Senate run next year.

Luallen won a fresh four-year term as state auditor last month.
She had emerged as the favorite of several prominent Democrats to
challenge McConnell, but said in a statement Friday that "I have
no plans to enter the race."

Mitch McConnell will have a hard time defending his record of support for Bush and the Iraq occupation with the price of gas over $3 a gallon and the economy getting weaker. However, Kentucky is one of the few states that probably still supports Bush. If the people like paying $8,000 each for invading Iraq, with McConnell's leadership we can probably find and even more disasterous war.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone can beat Mitch "Trash Bag" McConnell for Senator. So many people are so used to seeing his name on the ballot, he could die and still win like the guy in Missouri did. People in this state are too STUPID to check a politician's record, but they will believe anything they see in a campaign commercial. So maybe someone should run a commercial saying McConnell was caught eating children in D.C. and have a made-up picture of him dining on corpses...I bet the people of KY wouldn't check the news and would probably believe it. Hey, the guy from The Price Is Right is ready to enter this race. He stated "I'm sure I can beat Mitch Romney any day of the week".
