Wanted Father Turns Himself In

A central Kentucky father who was at the center of an amber alert speaks out to 27 newsfirst, just before turning himself in.

Authorities had been looking for Robin Maple since Friday when they say he took his infant son after a fight with the boys mother. He later dropped him off at his grandparents.

Mapel says he did nothing wrong when he took his son. He says he was only protecting his eight-month-old son from his unfit mother.

A hearing to determine who should have custody of Mapel's child will be held Monday morning.

Why dont politicans ever talk about blood sucking moms. May lose a vote i am sure.If moms had to pay like dads, then it would be a better place. Its always about the dad

Why was this man even wanted? He is the father of the child and has every right to be with that child unless he has harmed the child and there is an EPO against him. I don't understand. I would also like to add that there is just as many if not more unfit mothers in the world as there are fathers.

why is it that the mother is always considered fit! do authorities not understand that a father can be more fit than a mother. I don't blame him for taking his son! It may have been better for him to do so!

do you think if he had really done something wrong ,he would have gave up so easy.he had just as much right to that baby as she does , as long as he takes care of him.
