Still No Agreement Between ARH & Nurses

There's still no resolution after Monday's meeting between Appalachian Regional Hospital officials, the Kentucky and West Virginia Nurses Associations, and West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin.

Hundreds of nurses have been on strike since October first.

ARH officials say Manchin's plan to bring the nurses back to work under their 2004 contract is not feasible for the nurses or ARH.

No further talks are scheduled right now.

It seems to me that the hospital is not going to back down, so why not come to a compromise?? It also seems that the union is being diffucult to work with and will not even state their demands. The hospitals are running better than they have in years....so why would ARH want the old nurses back??

Some of the Management personel are all of the above they are 3 different hospitals that i know of where management stinks one is a administrator and 3 others are Department Heads they all need to be relived if there Jobs and find replacements . They all have brown on there nose if you know what i mean .

Why will the union not write down exactly what they want rather than continuing to simply complain? Remember - the company sets the rules not the staff. This is the way the world works.

This is seemingly never going to end--I have moved on and suggest all other ARH RNs do the same. ARH is cruel, cold, and uncaring. They have ruined our holidays. I hope Jerry Haynes finds a lump of coal in his stocking. On second thought that would be too good for him.
