School Bus Runs Into Madison County Bank

A school bus crash in Madison County ended without any serious injury on Tuesday morning after the bus ran into a bank!

The driver was circling the Community Trust Bank in Berea after stopping to get cash, but the bus was too big to clear the overhang at the drive-thru.

The bus hit the concrete wall, causing a sizable hole. The bus was not significantly damaged, but pieces of the bank's drive-thru roof are crumbling off.

There were no children on the bus at the time. The driver is okay.

Most of the school bus driver that I know won`t work at anything else, some have their wives teaching, some are afraid they will lose other handouts. People stand in line for these "bad" jobs, they have better benefits than a lot of other jobs, these buss drivers cry so you won`t want their job, they even have a helper on there to help control the kids. CHECK THESE THINGS OUT before you say poor overworked buss drivers.

People use company vehicles and company time to do what they want anyway. How many of you who have posted comments were sitting at work surfing the web or reading the news. I've always heard that the guilty dog barks first. I'm sure none of you have took longer breaks or sat around doing nothing. Or what about that company paper clip or ink pen you took home last week. But I'm sure you still expect the same amout of money each paycheck, even when you probably don't put in the full work time to get it.

So I guess if they stop at the liquor store to "run an errand" you have no problem with that? And as far as the underpaid and unappreciated comments; go find another job. A lot of people are underpaid; that's not my problem. Fred...I'm wondering like you. Did they actually try to use the drive thru or did they go into the bank then drive around the side to exit and they had to drive under that awning that is over the actual drive thru. Oh and jennifer; let's justify bad behavior with more bad behavior. Just because someone else does it, you feel everyone should do it? What a moron!

I think everyone is missing the point -- no biggie that the driver was running a personal errand. It's a biggie that the driver was stupid and tried to take a school bus through a drive-thru....dang....that was STUPID. So the same driver who was running a bus through a drive-thru gets to care for the safety of your larvae. Hilarious.

Who cares that the bus driver was using their bus to make a personal stop. Like everybody else they are overworked and underpaid. The one's of you wanting to criticize their job one day. The do not get the respect they deserve...they are transporting our children back and forth to school while trying to keep them safe. Most of them go out of their way to do their job and protect our kids.

Sometimes those buses at Walmart are on educational trips with special needs students or students learning money lessons, which is great of the school to take them out and do real world things give them more of an idea of what is involved with mom and dad saying no we can't get that now, and if that driver does work at walmart etc. great they are out there doing what they need to do to make a living! Sometimes insurance issues call for working where you can get good insurance or get the hours to feed/clothe yourself and family. And bus drivers deserve a little break for doing there best to be out there,it is not easy getting those kids to school as safely as they do, people see the bus and make sudden turns or pullouts and then gripe if there kid gets jolted around, ride on one if you can possibly or spend a few days with them you will appreciate what they do and you have no idea what special people bus drivers are! Granted good and bad everywhere but bus drivers exceptional.

Who cares if they run a personal errand? They are UNDERPAID and UNDERAPPRECIATED! I sure wouldn't want this job with the way kids and schools are today.

people uses commercial and government vehicles for personal use all the time, so don't get upset with the bus drivers, for doing the same thing.

School bus drivers work for such low wages as it is. My grandmother whom is dead now worked as a bus driver for many years. They have some downtime every day due to school schedules. They typically have a morning run, early afternoon run and then late afternoon run to take kids home. If they want to make a few personal stops it's fine by me.
