Two Injured, One Critically, in Rowan County Wreck

MOREHEAD, KY -- Two people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Rowan County.

Kentucky State Police in Morehead report the accident occured about 7:30 p.m. on KY 377. Twenty-two year old Heather Johnson of Morehead was driving north near Caudill's Grocery when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck an SUV driven by 42-year old James Allen Stevens, also of Morehead.

Police say Johnson was airlifted from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, where she is listed in critical condition. Stevens was transported by Rowan County EMS to St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead where he was treated and released.

The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper David Zimmerman.

    There has been several wrecks on this road. I live in Rowan county,but not on this road. I do know it is too narrow and needs to be fixed and made safer.
